Can It Be?? PETER RABBIT

I'm lost.  Can anyone tell me how to get to Patsy Bennie McGregor's house??   I know it's around here somewhere.   I love young tender sprouts of swiss chard like the kind Frank has at his house.

Mattie Loves Her Music

We had a surprise visit from Mattie this afternoon.  She's always excited and this time she came to show us her new Autoharp.  It's new to her but with her experience, she has picked it up in no time.  She loves her music and it's always a treat to hear her play.
I just had to have a picture of this new instrument.  The way I understand it; the cords are played by just holding down the correct key, and the strumming and picking is done with the other hand.  Sounds simple, but I couldn't make it work .

Just another one of Mattie's favorites, and mine also.  She loaned me this DVD which is from some of the old TV shows.  Good listing and lots of memories

Birthdays are Over

I had a great Birthday and I'm very thankful.   Good food, great friends.  I also took the liberty of giving myself a little gift like an I-Pod.  I thought it would be nice listing to some music and Podcasts.  Well, Cloody liked my I-Pod and is using it freely, so I offered to buy her one, but no way would she have that, but she did agree that I could take her to the " Creek". Cold Water that is.   That I did, and now she has a new outfit and my I-Pod too. That's life.

Happy Birthday Frank

                             A  Great Day

Well, it's not easy being 81, but it's better than the alternative.   I had a nice day, thanks to Cloody, my family and many friends.  I had a number of calls and drop ins and I must confess, it was a wonderful day. Phil and his family dropped in Saturday evening, and fixed and served dinner.  They even cleaned the kitchen and washed all the dishes.
Percy, Tanner and Davis gave up their Saturday evening to come to Blytheville and wish me a happy Birthday.

                                                        Caroline and Mary Lee

I get a special singing birthday greeting from Mary Lee every year, and this year was special because Carolina was along.  This has been a tradition for the past several year and I really appreciate it.  Maybe next year I will be very lucky and Gail will join in.  That would make three generations.  All I have to do is make it to 82 and see what happens.  Birthdays are great!

Cotton Blooms and More

The weather is hot and dry, and the cotton is blooming.

               A beautiful white bloom

Both pink and white blooms
Cotton blooms explained.  The way it was told to me is as follows:   The first day the cotton bloom is white. The second day the white bloom turns pink.  The third day the pink bloom dies, and by the fifth day fall off.  Now you know.  That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Soy beans
The beans are really growing although the weather is dry, and we could use some rain.  With a tropical storm brewing in the Gulf anything is possible.  I guess we are in the " Dog Day of Summer ".

Line Dancing

When Cloody and I moved to WMV over seven years ago Line dancing was popular.  June and Virginia Moy were residents in the Village and offered lessons .  They were both good dancers and were dedicated to teaching.  We met Ezell and Billie Wilson and we all got involved in dancing.  We soon learned about the Clean Fun Club and Friday night dancing became a weekly event.  I must say we had lots of fun.  We are all a little older now and don't get out as much as we used to but we still think dancing is wonderful.
